Colonial Rifles 206th Platoon.

Vasquez
That nerdy hobby...

Needing a break of power armour, I'm thinking about restarting my dusty IG army. This is a bit unrelated to the pourpose of this blog, but seriously, don't want to start a blog just for this so you can expect some unrelated guard posts time to time.

The theme of that army is mostly based in "Platoon" the movie with some touches of USCM from Alien II. That mean almost no tanks, no mechvets, and no (not much at least) AirCav.

In both films there are flyers: A drop ship in Alien and one Fighter in Platoon, so one or two Valkyries are more or less justified. Same apply for transports (at least one M113 in Platoon & the M577A3 from Alien II. This implies mostly a gunline army with some ground and air support.

Making pre Heresy obliterators (II)

Part I

Hi there, good afternoon. Here is a bit of progress with my first Obliterator. I've added some details here and there. The wound one (aka Brother Wone or lascannon guy) is almost completed, just need minor GS work to fill some gaps. I'm not very happy with wound two (or, like he like call himself, Brother Tchooh), not sure if it's the pose, the power fist, or the whole model.

Making pre Heresy obliterators

Good morning Vietnam! I've stoped from painting this days, but don't worry, the weathering tutorial for starters would be finished!

Now let's talking about the Obliterator cult. I'm not really a fan of them. Certainly I would be much happier with Cult Terminators... But better to keep this on-topic :)

The Obliterators are a very versatile Heavy Support choice, and, besides I only play WH40K for the fluff, I like to win sometimes. Of course, I play to win, but for the fluff. Combine both concepts can be very painful, so following the wise advices of The Jeske (B&C) and specially, of VonManstein (Warseer, aka Zhukov in B&C) I conceded and picked a unit of Obliterators to play in competitive enviroments.

First of all here is the basecoated model:

Big Update! 1800 point army

WARNING: PIC HEAVY

Well, after a week of painting hell and a painful tournament, with the help of my friend x-ro177 (aka David), here is an army update. Most of the "to do list" is nearly completed.

First of all we have Wrathe Berzerker squad, with Khârn...

You can notice that the bases are not finished. This apply to the whole army :)

Wrathe Berzerker Squad

After countless painting hours (8 or so) here they are. Still WIP as you can see, they need some details, basework and, of course, blood.

Inspired by this piece of artwork:

Deus Irae

Deus Irae part 2
Deus Irae Part 3

At the end of 3 intensive work days, I can say that almost finished the Knight titan (this monster was terrible
time consumer, between 15 and 18 hours!) but I think tat is worth the efforth and the time invested.

Still alive...

But I can't say the same about my laptop. Is nearly dead. I had 3 daysfighting against it but the HDD is so broken ("KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR" BSOD ¬_¬) and I'm now with my girlfriend's notebook... And when I go to buy another this morning the car's engine also crashed. A black winter day.

Anyway, hands on!

Skane Havoc squad [WIP]

I had some hard days this weekend, 2 broken laptops and one mobile (also broken) to fix. But the techmarine that I have in me will win! 3 issues fixed and finally I have time to spend in the hobby :)

Here is some work in Skane's havoc squad:

Tactical Squad Ariakus & Honor's Retribution

Well, at least I could get my hands on a camera! This models still WIP but nearly finished. As you can see I can't paint white, so I must go in another way. I painted the white parts of the armour dirty and dusty. This army would be desert themed/based so I think that is ok.
